New Year’s Babies!
Now Open! Through February 21 ONLY!
Take a close-up look at the babies in the Aquarium with our special focus tanks. There will also be special talks and behind-the-scenes tours that focus on our breeding program. Talks at 11:15am and 3:15pm. Tour at 1:15pm (Additional tour fee).
Sleepover!
Friday, February 12; 6:00pm to 7:00am
Give hugs and fishes to your favorite Aquarium residents at our next sleepover just in time for Valentine’s Day! Visit with some love bugs, including millipedes, stickbugs, and a tarantula, learn how animals use mating calls to find their perfect mate, and enjoy crafts and activities throughout the evening, including a movie and bedtime snack! In the morning, you’ll wake up with the fishes and enjoy a continental breakfast.
$60.00 plus tax

February is Responsible Pet Owners Month. Join us as we spread the word on responsible pet ownership through special exhibits, reptile encounters, and other events.

Did you know our entire Amazon tank is filled with critters that have been donated to our Aquarium? Learn more about this tank as we spotlight what animals make great household pets and those that don’t!
Salty Fish Craft
Daily; $1.00 fee
Use colored salts to decorate your very own fish!
Critter Cart: Preferable Pets
11:00am to 3:00pm
Interact with some animals that may or may not be good pets for you, and find out what characteristics to look for when choosing the right pet for your household. Animals include: Chilean rose hair tarantula, ball python, bearded dragon, milk snake, walking sticks, and Madagascar hissing cockroaches.
February 12-21:
Reptile Encounters! Live animals!
Daily at 11:00am to 300pm
Visit with some special guests and their friends, including birds, owls, possums, snakes, lizards, and tarantulas, and learn why some pets are better than others!
Love Bites!
Valentine's Day is a celebration of love and lifelong bonds, but just as humans have methods of attracting and keeping their mates, our furry (and not so furry) friends in the animal kingdom utilize many curious and exciting strategies in their quests to find partners of their own! From the slipper snail that changes its sex during its life, to the fearsome sand tiger shark that "bites" its mate during courtship, the animal world shows us that all creatures endure some relationship struggles throughout their lives -- yes, love truly does "bite" sometimes!

Enjoy this ten-minute lecture about the peculiar mating rituals of sea creatures that begins at our largest exhibit and then continues as a self-guided tour throughout the Aquarium, with handouts provided by your Aquarium Educator.
