Planning Your Visit

It’s easy to arrange a school or group visit (minimum 15 people) to
Atlantis Marine World. Please note that advance registration is required.

To book your visit, call 631.208.9200, ext. 105, Monday through Friday
from 9:00am to 5:00pm, or download, complete, and return a Group Visit
Request Form by clicking here. Make sure to let us know if your group
has any special needs.

Chaperones (minimum age 21) are key to a successful visit, and groups receive one free chaperone for every 10 paid admissions ages 3-21, or one free chaperone for each adult/senior group.

Once your reservation is confirmed, you can receive one free planning pass by calling 631.208.9200, ext. 105. This pass may not be used on the same day of your reservation.

Lunch and City Treasures Gift Shop discounts Groups may obtain box lunches or ice cream – which must be pre-ordered – through Atlantis Marine World at a discount. Bag lunches may
be carried only if they remain in backpacks or totes, since we do not offer storage for lunches or personal belongings.

Select items from our City Treasures Gift Shop may also be
pre-ordered in bulk for students by calling 631.208.9200,
ext. 115 prior to your visit. Educators with proper identification
qualify for a 10% City Treasures discount; group discounts
may not be combined with any other offer or promotion.


Frequently Asked Questions

I want to come with a group; do you offer special rates?
Group rates
are available for groups consisting of 15 people or more all arriving at the same time. A prior reservation must be made at least 24 hours in advance with one person paying for the entire group.

What is your payment policy for groups?
We accept personal checks and credit cards. School, organization, or personal checks should be made out to Atlantis Marine World. We also accept purchase orders or invoice payments if arrangements are made in advance. Please send a copy of your trip itinerary along with your deposit. Also include a copy of your tax-exempt form, if applicable.

Should I confirm my reservation in advance?
Yes, you MUST contact us three days prior to you visit to finalize your group size.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
We must be notified at least 14 days in advance in order to issue a refund of your deposit. If you cancel less than 14 days ahead, your deposit will be applied towards a future reservation.

Do you offer Education Programs?
Yes. Atlantis Marine World offers many new and exciting education programs. They not only utilize grade-appropriate activities and language, but they also align with New York State Learning Standards. In fact, we can customize our programs to meet specific teaching requirements. And all are offered bilingually – either in English, Spanish, or a combination of both.

What is the Teacher Planning Pass?

Once your reservation is confirmed, you can receive one free planning pass by calling 631.208.9200, ext. 105. This pass may not be used on the same day of your reservation.

Where does the bus drop us off?
For groups visiting the Aquarium, the arriving buses should unload at the Aquarium’s front entrance. For groups going on the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat, arriving buses should unload in the Riverfront Parking Lot.

Where do I check-in my group?
Upon your group’s arrival, the group coordinator must proceed to Group Check-In at the Main Entrance. Please have your final headcount (separate ages 3 – 21 and ages 22+) so that each visitor can be given a wristband / hand stamp. An Aquarium map, schedule, and badges for each chaperone will be distributed at this time. If your group is going on the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat only, then please check-in at the Riverfront Ticketing office.

Can we bring chaperones?
Of course you can. Chaperones (minimum age 21) are key to a successful visit, and groups receive one free adult chaperone for every 10 paid admissions ages 3-21, or one free adult chaperone for each adult/senior group. Please be sure to keep your chaperone badge on at all times during your visit. Bus drivers are free of charge.

Do you offer disability access?

Our buildings and grounds have been designed to provide full access and quality experiences for special needs visitors. We are fully accessible to visitors with disabilities.

Do you rent wheelchairs/strollers?
No.

Where are the restrooms?
Restrooms are located on the first floor of the Aquarium. There is one in the Marine Mammal & Sea Turtle Rescue Center and one outside of the Atlantis Café. Nemo’s Family Fun Center and Scoops Ice Cream & Candy have available restroom facilities during the summer and on school breaks. The Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat has two restrooms. Please be sure to ask for a Facility Map.

I don’t want to miss your Sea Lion Show; what times do you offer them?
Our Sea Lion Shows start promptly at 10:45am, 12:45pm, 2:30pm, and 4:00pm (seasonal). This 15-minute show is a closed-door one with no re-entry permitted during show. Click here for our complete Daily Events Schedule.

Are exhibits closed when it rains?
Most of our outdoor exhibits are open year-round. However, our Sea Lion Show is outdoors and is weather permitting only. The Discover Tower Ride, Poseidon’s Peak & Playground, and Interactive Salt Marsh are seasonal.

Do you ever cancel the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat?
As per Coast Guard regulations, we cannot operate while small craft advisories are posted for the eastern Long Island Sound. The Boat Captain retains the right to cancel the trip for any legitimate reason (weather, mechanical, etc.). If that situation does arise, we will make every effort to contact you immediately. Please note that if the boat is cancelled, you have the option of rescheduling your boat trip, visiting the Aquarium and adding the Estuarine Water Quality Education Program, or you may request a full refund.

Where can we eat?
The Atlantis Café is located within the Aquarium. The Riverfront Room is available for group lunches, as well as, the outdoor patio and picnic areas. Groups may pre-order box lunches or ice cream through Atlantis Marine World at a discount. Bag lunches may be carried only if they remain in backpacks or totes, since we do not offer storage for lunches or personal belongings.

Is that a television camera over there?
It might be. During your visit, an Aquarium employee or authorized guest may film, tape, or photograph you. Your admission serves as permission for use of your image by these parties. Click here for more Aquarium policies.

Can I take photos/videos?
Yes. Flash photography is permitted but video lights are not permitted. Disposable cameras and film are available in our City Treasures Gift Shop. Any commercial use of still or motion pictures taken at the Aquarium without written consent of Atlantis Marine World is prohibited.

Can I leave the Aquarium and return the same day?
Of course, just be sure your hand is stamped / or keep your wristband on.

Do you have a Lost & Found?
Atlantis Marine World maintains a Lost & Found in the Membership Office at the Main Entrance. If you need to contact the Lost & Found regarding a missing item, please call 631.208.9200, ext. 103/108.

What about First Aid?
We have a First Aid station located in the Membership Office at the Main Entrance.

Where can I buy souvenirs?
Our City Treasures Gift Shop is located within the Aquarium adjacent to the Main Entrance. Do you have a “Lost Child” policy in place?
Yes, we have a strict policy in place. Please report any missing child to the nearest staff member.

Where can our bus pick us up?
Buses should pick up on the side of the Aquarium at the Riverfront Parking Lot. Groups will be advised upon check-in if there are any changes. Remember to schedule a departure time with your bus driver.
